I. Music Appreciation/Humanities

• Brief History of music
• Text book references/ Tenneson, Shakespeare, Williams,Byron
• Classification of orchestral instruments

 

II. Quality of Sound

• What is sound?
• Timbre/Pitch/Frequency/Dynamics
• Intensities of different instruments

 

III. Reading Music

• Standard Notation/ bass clef, treble clef
• Measures/rhythm, beat, meter, tempo
• Polyrhythms, simple, compound

 

IV. Intervals

• Major/Minor scales,
• Chord structures
• Key Signatures

 

V. Writing music correctly

• Applying theories to modern day artists
• Key components of song writing/verse, chorus, hooks

 

VI. Recording Techniques

• Necessary resources
• Proper set up
• Practice! Practice!

 

We look forward to having you attend. The classes are very casual. We will discuss recording software such as Pro-Tools, Cubase, Logic and recording in a live tracking and MIDI studio environment. We will also discuss the changes in the music industry and where it’s all headed. So, make sure you bring all of your questions!!!

Frank WRIGHT; received his Master of Arts degree under the direction of Jack Cecchini at the Chicago Conservatory of Music. He took his training and degree in Classical Guitar, keyboards, trumpet, harmonica and vocals. Frank has worked and preformed with such greats as Sonny & Cher, Chicago, American Breed and Kansas. Since achieving an audio and video engineering degree from SMI, He turned his focus towards producing and engineering, working with major record labels such as ABC Records (Brian Ingoldsby President), A&M Records, Geffen, Interscope, Cherokee Records, Filmways-Hyder, WEA (Warner/Elektra/Atlantic), Warner Bros

TERMS & POLICIES:

There are no refunds. All sales are final on all services offered. To book studio time there is a ONE (1) hour minimum for all recording sessions. An advance deposit of 50% is required to confirm any scheduled time. You will forfeit your deposit if you reschedule less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled session or instrument/ vocal lessons. Entire balance is due upon the start of any recording session, lessons, classes, training programs or any other services provided. Form of payments accepted; Cash, Check, ATM, Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. All recordings remain the property of California Sound Studios Inc. until balances are paid in full.
